We designed the interior to be a quiet, eclectic mix of authentic Hawaiian influences, loosely and lightly re-interpreted. Stone Interiors selected materials and motifs to honor the setting and the history, giving the house a familiar sense of place. — CLIENT
The architecture was inspired by the Paniolo high-country ranch vernacular, modernized so the inside unfolds effortlessly to the outside. You live a little differently when you’re in vacation mode, and the house cultivates that inclination. The furnishings and groupings invite lounging, savoring, and napping in great comfort.
The materials and motifs honor the setting, giving the house a familiar sense of place: moldings and armoires with carved patterns of waves; an oversized pair of daybeds wrapped in traditional grasses, Hawaiian flora embroidered on the bedding.
